How to control your stream from your phone

When you stream away from the keyboard – on a sim rig, at a desk with a camera, IRL in the room – your phone becomes the control panel: chat, scenes, sources and the bot in one place.

Set it up

  1. Switch it on. In FabStream open Settings → Remote control and turn on the big switch.
  2. Choose Phone, tablet & apps. Allow phones and tablets in your network.
  3. Scan the QR code. Show QR code, scan it with the phone camera – the phone signs in and remembers it. Add the page to your home screen for an app icon.

What you can do from the phone

  • Chat: all chats in one list, write to Twitch and Kick, see viewers and who just came in.
  • Control: start and stop the stream and the recording, switch scenes and save clips.
  • Bot: FabBot on or off, commands, timed messages, polls and giveaways.
  • More: show or hide sources per format, every hotkey action and the performance values.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app from the store?

No. FabStream Remote opens in the phone’s browser; you can add it to the home screen like an app. Phone and PC need to be in the same network.

Does it work with a Stream Deck?

Yes. Stream Deck, Loupedeck, Touch Portal, Streamer.bot and Companion connect to FabStream over the WebSocket remote protocol (version 5) – the settings page shows the address, port and password to enter.

Is remote control secure?

It is off until you switch it on and protected by a password. The QR code holds that password, so FabStream shows it only when you ask and hides it again after two minutes.

Which plan includes remote control?

Premium and up. The free 7-day trial includes it.
